Skin Needling FAQ's

Q. What is skin needling?

A. Medical micro-needling aka skin needling and collagen induction therapy is a procedure designed to enhance & improve skin complexion via activation of the skin’s natural regenerative processes which stimulates collagen synthesis.

It is clinically proven to visibly reduce wrinkles and treat acne scarring. We utilise expert precision, technique, and timing, using the world-renowned EXCEED medical micro-needling device to deliver optimal results.
The creation of controlled microchannels in the skin instigates the regeneration of skin cells via a natural process of healing. Awakening the fibroblast that lies within the deeper layers of the skin, healthy collagen is naturally produced.

A consultation to determine suitability and pre and post-care requirements are discussed prior to treatments commencing.

Q. How many treatments will I need?

A. The number of treatments required will depend on what it is we are treating, but a course of 6 is generally recommended.

Time frames will vary between treatments and this will be discussed with you at your consultation.

Home care is required 2-4 weeks prior to your first treatment session and some aftercare is required, however, downtime is minimal.

Q. What else should I do to support my skin during a skin needling course?

A. It is highly recommended to have LED treatments, especially a course leading up to each Micro-Needling. LED increases the ATP in the mitochondria and increases fibroblasts by 155% resulting in a more efficacious treatment. The primary function of fibroblasts is the maintenance of structural integrity within the connective tissue. Fibroblasts secrete the extracellular matrix precursors required for the formation of connective tissue and various fibers.

Home care will be recommended by your therapist for both pre and post-treatment these will include an appropriate cleanser, corrector, hydrator, SPF, and EFA's.

We recommend a facial within 5 to 10 days after treatment to help slough away any redundant skin cells and flaking skin and to rehydrate the skin.
